Elise Hughes
Elise is an artist whose early influences include the gardens of Cranbrook, the University
at Birmingham, England where her father taught industrial design, as well as influences in
modern design, e.g. Knoll, Eames, Breuer, etc. - all furniture in her home as a child.
She has also loved the work of Van Doesenburg, Brancusi and of Kurt Schwitten whose meticulous
use of mundane media such as bits of paper and found fragments has been an important
